Mamfatou is a New York native, born and raised in The Bronx. As the Graduate Assistant for Immersion Programs, she will be helping to facilitate critical and contextual discussions with students as they take part in PKG programs. She also hopes to spark passion in students for serving their communities and support them in gaining deep understandings and connections.
Mamfatou is currently a Master’s student in the Higher Education program at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Prior to graduate school, she served as an Americorps member with City Year New York and earned her B.A. from Columbia University. While at Columbia, Mamfatou engaged in research centering identity and psychological interventions. She is interested in people, wellness, and issues of diversity and equity and hopes to explore ways of getting more students of color to and through institutions of higher education with academic success and overall wellbeing.
In her spare time, Mamfatou appreciates a good journaling moment and indulging in Netflix shows while enjoying a homemade spa.
