Nicah was raised in Metro Manila, Philippines, which gifted her with a sunny disposition and fostered within her a deep love for others. After graduating from the University of the Philippines, working on community development projects and teaching high school English, she is now pursuing graduate studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is in the Education Leadership, Organizations, & Entrepreneurship Ed.M. program, which she believes will help her achieve her lifelong mission of closing the education equity gap in developing countries like the Philippines.
This passion for equity was what brings her to the MIT PKG Public Service Center. As the Social Innovation graduate assistant, she looks forward to empowering social entrepreneurs to make a lasting, positive difference. An educator by profession and in heart, Nicah is so encouraged to be part of a program that invests in the youth, believing in their potential to change the world.
When she isn’t thinking about her role in the campaign for social justice, Nicah works on her cooking skills, collects fountain pens, and practices yoga. She enjoys getting to know different kinds of people over chats about favorite foods, latest K-drama binges, and adventures in pet parenthood, too.
