PKG Students Paige Dzenutis (’27) and Connie Huang (’28) Awarded by Beth Israel Leahy Health!

Two PKG Social Impact Interns recently received awards for the work completed during their internships at the Beth Israel Leahy Health in their sustainability department.

Paige Dzenutis, Mechanical Engineering, ‘27 (IAP ’25 intern)

Paige was selected as a ‘BILH Jane Matlaw Environmental Champion’ recipient, alongside two employees that she worked closely with – Katelyn Trainor and Sao Pires. The Environmental Sustainability Selection Committee was impressed with Paige’s commitment to environmental sustainability and her critical role that she had to influence the expansion of BIDMC’s medical supply donation program, as well as the essential role that she had in elevating the waste related to the stocking of supply shelves in the bone marrow transplant unit. Paige’s advocacy to explore better practices for inventory management resulted in $1,279/month saved by reducing the disposal of over 4500 supplies.

Connie Huang, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science ‘28 (Summer ’25 intern, continuing this Fall)

The awards were presented at the BILHSustainability Summit on Thursday, October 23. Connie was in attendance.

Connie was selected as this year’s ‘BILH Jane Matlaw Environmental Champion’ college student recipient. The Environmental Sustainability Selection Committee was impressed with her commitment to environmental sustainability and the critical foundation that she built for their food greenhouse gas emissions tracking dashboard.
