We think every student is an innovator at MIT—even if sometimes that title can be intimidating. SIE FPOP welcomes first year students into the social innovation and entrepreneurship community while introducing the MIT PKG Public Service Center as the entryway to public service and meaningful social change.
- Program Dates are Saturday 8/19 – Saturday 8/26.
- Interviews will be held Apr 25, 2023 to Apr 26, 2023.

Social Innovation Exploration FPOP Coordinator
Are you a current 3rd year change-maker, social innovator, or social entrepreneur? Do you want to welcome incoming first year students into the social innovation ecosystem at MIT? This new FPOP leadership position may be for you!
Responsible for leading a group of MIT upperclassmen Counselors to plan and run the SIE FPOP during August 2023, dedicating about three hours per week during the late spring semester and early summer planning the program. The coordinator will work with MIT PKG Center staff supervision to create a program budget, structure the program schedule, manage the team of upperclassmen counselors, coordinate with MIT staff for educational programming, and will coordinate logistics for the five-day program. They will also, in partnership with the PKG Center, put together a series of training sessions to prepare the counselor team. This is a student leadership position with quite a bit of responsibility, and the students will work closely with PKG staff to ensure that the program runs smoothly, within budget, and with appropriate safety and liability procedures. The student will also be present throughout all of SIE training and programming.

Responsible for working with the coordinators in planning and running the Social Innovation Exploration FPOP during August 2023. MIT. Counselors facilitate a fun, intentional, social innovation-focused program for incoming first-year students. They introduce students to MIT and the broader social entrepreneurship community, important issues that play out in our community, as well as frameworks and skill sets to design interventions to these issues. Specific responsibilities during FPOP week will include facilitating activities, coordinating logistics, leading discussions, and serving as a resource to the first-years.
