PKG SIE FPOP is Hiring 6 SIE FPOP Counselors!

The Social Innovation Exploration Counselor position is responsible for working with the coordinators in planning and running the Social Innovation Exploration (SIE FPOP) during August 2024. This is a student leadership position that allows upperclassmen to form a connection with the incoming class of MIT first-years through the exploration of social innovation and social entrepreneurship at MIT. Counselors facilitate a fun, intentional, social innovation-focused program for incoming first-year students. They introduce students to MIT and the broader social entrepreneurship community, important issues that play out in our community, as well as frameworks and skill sets to design interventions to these issues. Counselors are expected to be present throughout the entire program as well as a series of (remote) training sessions during the summer and prior to the FPOP week. In addition, counselors will be required to spend about 5-6 hours per month during the spring semester and summer working with the coordinators and MIT PKG Center Staff to plan the program and going through training. Tasks during the spring and summer will include determining evening activities, as well as finding appropriate partners and revising educational programming. Specific responsibilities during FPOP week will include facilitating activities, coordinating logistics, leading discussions, and serving as a resource to the first-years.

Program Dates are Sunday 8/18 – Saturday 8/24.

This is a paid position at $15/hr.
