Abigale Mazzo
Abigale Mazzo
Abigale Mazzo is a Ph.D. candidate in English Language & Literature at the University of Tulsa, where she also teaches courses in writing, rhetoric, and literature. Her research explores 20th-century American novels that depict scenes of the apocalypse, arguing that apocalyptic events are often personal, communal, and environmental ruptures rather than literal end-of-world narratives. Her work draws on critical approaches including eco-studies, gothic studies, and theories of time, space, and Afuturity. Abigale has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Dissertation Completion Fellowship and Instructor of the Year Award at the University of Tulsa. In addition to her teaching, she has held administrative roles in writing centers and academic programming and has presented her research at national conferences. She is also an accomplished fiction writer, with her short stories appearing in several journals and magazines.
